Philanthropy

Philanthropy is an integral
part of being an Alpha Phi. We organize a couple philanthropy events
every year, as well as supporting other Greek groups by attending their
charity events.
Our major philanthropy event is Mr. Greek, a male beauty
pageant and talent competition that occurs in the fall. Attractive guys
strut their stuff on stage at The Wave, answer questions to prove their
intellect and charm, and then show off their various talents and skills
by dancing, singing, playing instruments, breathing fire...you name
it, it has happened at Mr. Greek before! It is one of the most well-attended
philanthropy events in the Greek community and all proceeds go to the
Alpha Phi Foundation and Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation.
Apart from Mr. Greek, Alpha Phis also organize and participate in various
other smaller philanthropy events. In the past two years, we have trick-or-treated
with the children at Merrymount Children's Centre along with the brothers
of Phi Delta Theta, jumped rope on concrete beach for the Heart & Stroke
Foundation, climbed to the top of One London Place for United Way, and
sold candy necklaces at the Barking Frog for Heart and Stroke.
